Ringo's Grave

This is Johnny Ringo's grave. It is located on private property and one can only visit it with permission from the owners, which Glenn obtained for us. Ringo was a member of the notorious Cowboy gang in and around Tombstone. The grave marker says that he committed suicide. Many authors have speculated that he was suffering from dementia brought on by heat exhaustion and thirst. Obviously these authors have never been to his grave, as you can see it is just feet away from West Turkey Creek. Josie Earp, stated that she knew that Wyatt and Doc Holliday came back from Colorado and killed Ringo as revenge for his participation in the killing of Morgan Earp.

This is the trail leading back to Ringo's grave

This is Ringo's grave marker. Note the river a few feet away!

I am sitting where Ringo was found. He had a fatal gunshot wound to the head and NO powder burns.

This is Bill Oglesby peering through the tree.

This is a state marker that tells an innocuous and inaccurate version of Ringo's death.

If you want to just print the tree, here it is, save Bill once again.

Note the river again. It seems Bill was intrigued by Ringo's grave. What a shoot-out that would have been.

This is Glenn, me and Harry McNeer standing near Ringo's grave postulating how Wyatt & Doc got his body to this spot.

This is near the spot where Ringo was actually killed.
